Welcome, I am a self taught coloured pencil artist and have dabbled in pencil art on and off over the years and after retiring in 2012 I found more time to indulge in my art hobby,
Originally it was only graphite pencils I used as an art media but then I was inspired by coloured pencil work I discovered online and especially the fine detail that the medium allows.
I have gradually developed my own style with drawings inspired by the scenery and wildlife of the Shetland Islands, the most northerly group of islands in the UK.
I tend to work with 'Faber Castell' Polychromos pencils which are oil based and allow for very fine detail and depth of colour.
All my artworks are referenced from my own photographs.
